TL;DR
The Edge Score is a Kora Markets proprietary accuracy rating updated each time a prediction market resolves. It measures your prediction accuracy on a specific market — how close your probability estimate was to the actual outcome. Edge Scores feed into your Investor Readiness Score over time. A consistently high Edge Score across diverse market types is the strongest signal of genuine predictive accuracy.
How the Edge Score works
When you make a prediction on Kora Markets Play, you assign a probability to an outcome. When the market resolves, the platform scores your prediction based on how accurately your probability matched the outcome — using a scoring rule that rewards genuine confidence in correct predictions and penalises overconfidence in incorrect ones.
This approach, known as a proper scoring rule, cannot be gamed by always predicting 50% (hedging). It rewards accurate, well-calibrated predictions — which is the actual skill being trained.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have a high Edge Score but a low IRS? Yes. A high Edge Score on a single market indicates you performed well on that specific prediction. A low IRS means your accuracy across diverse markets is not yet consistent. The IRS requires breadth, not just peak performance.
Does my Edge Score affect my ability to access Kora Markets Invest? Indirectly. Edge Scores accumulate into your IRS, and an IRS of 65+ is the recommended threshold for transitioning to Kora Markets Invest. No single Edge Score unlocks or restricts access.
